i have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism for a little less than two years and i have been taking levoxyl since to regulate my thyroid. it wasnt a problem for the first year,( i would wake up, take the pill, then wait an hour and then i could eat.)
but last year i started middle school and i had to go to school a lot earlier and i didnt have time to take my meds and also eat (levoxyl users know that you have to wait an hour to eat after taking it)
so then i wouldnt eat breakfast and my eating pattern got all messed up so this year i wake up, get ready, eat then leave for school and then about two hours later i take my medicine at the school clinic.

i used to have a longer break between 2nd and 3rd period so i had time then to take my meds but now my schedule changed and i dont have a break long enuff to take it then and i cant take it later cuz i have lunch right after 3rd so yeah....can i take it later in the day? like when i get home which is about 2:30 is morning better?

You can take Levoxyl any time of the day providing you do so on an empty stomach and you can take it the same time every day. The reason people take it in the morning is that they are much easier in remembering it. If you change the time you take it, just set an alarm clock or an alarm on your cell phone if you have one.

Another option would be to have the school nurse hold some of your Levoxyl and each day at a certain time you go down to take it. That way you have permission to go take it and you get it out of the way.

Don't worry too much about taking levoxyl on an empty stomach. My endocrinologist, who has hypothyroidism from Grave's Disease treatment, as I do, and takes levoxyl every day as I do, once told me that as long as you're not full when you take it, it's fine. And don't take it with a big glass of milk!
You can take it at any time of the day. Just try to keep the time fairly consistent.
Most important: ASK YOUR ENDOCRINOLOGIST when you have questions like this! If you don't have an endocrinologist, GET ONE. It's worth it.
