I am on levothyroxine 75 mcg. I've been on it for a year. I still have only lost 15 pounds of the 90 I gained in that year and he just keeps telling me to keep dieting and exercising. He meaning my doctor. They found 2 nodules on my thyroid but said they were too small to do anything about.

75 mcg's is a very small dose. Your doctor should be trying to get your morning TSH to around 1.0. Below are some thyroid websites. Please read them. It's the only way you will get the care you deserve. Far too many doctors are only testing TSH and just trying to get you in range and that range is outdated as well. AACE has been recommending for years now that it's changed to 0.3 to 3.0, but yet most labs still have it at 0.3 to 5.5. That's totally wrong if you are still having symptoms

Thyroid problems is a serious business. If your not getting enough, it messes up all the rest of the endocrine gland systems production of hormone. Maybe its time to go to another doctor for a second opinion. Also, I'd have a real serious look at your diet and habits. Maybe you can do that yourself, maybe the doctor will have to help you with that. You should have lost more than 15 pounds of the 90 lbs you gained.

Better ask your doctor about your diet chart because thyroid is not a child's game. Just eat up his mind next time you meet him. Ask him all the questions you need to ask. Thyroid is different types even if the drug given is same. So, you might be loosing weight in a slow pace, others might have been loosing faster... so better ask your doctor.

Have they checked your lab values lately? The dose might be too low. How quickly or slowly have you lost the 15 lbs? It's best not to lose
more than 2 lbs a week.

I am sure the doctor has done tests to determine if your thyroid medication is at the correct level now. More medicine is not what is needed to make you loose wt. You need to stay on the correct dose. Losing the wt. will have to be done the old-fashsioned way...diet and exercise.
