How often do you wash your kids toys?

Stuffed animals?
Plastic toys?
Large toys like exersaucer, playpen, ride on toys?

Just wondering.

(I really don't do it very often, I think I should do it more, and I am trying to figure out what is reasonable)

I assure you "too clean" is not an issue in my house.

Stuffed toys: when they start to stink.

Plastic toys: almost never

Saucer: I would clean it every once in a while or if there was barf, food etc. on it.

Kids are tough, they eat dirt, pick their noses and share it with friends, etc., I wouldn't worry about germs if I were you. So long as they learn to wash their hands and are developing good hygiene, you're fine.

Studies have shown that "germaphobe" parents cause more harm by not allowing their children's immune systems to develop by keeping kids and their environments TOO clean....

Honestly stuffed animals I don't wash unless she spits up on them or takes them out of the house, plastic toys not very often unless she has been sick or they were taken out of the house(but I have only a select few that go out) and large toys only if she has been sick. My daughter is 5 months and has only been sick with a cold once. So I haven't washed her toys much.

I wash the stuffed ones every two weeks in the machine on gentle cycle and let them air dry. The hard toys like bouncer, rattles, or little people once a week and I use the chlorox sanitizing spray in between. It has worked awesome.

only as needed. Toys they put in their mouth, teethers for example, where washed every night. I kept a bin by the kitchen sink and would throw them in there at night, soak in hot water and dish soap, rinse well and place on a towel on the counter to dry.

If the rest of your house is pretty clean, there's really no need to clean their toys unless they spill something on them, drool on them, throw them in the mud, etc. :-)

Keeping their environment too clean will actually cause them to be sick more often because their immune systems never get the chance to "toughen up".

I use lysol and wash things only if they get dirty or spilled.

For cloth that new febreeze antimicrobial is great.

And i would say that would be once a month or so i would wash it. But lysol every other day.

Once in a blue moon unless I notice it's totally disgusting.
