Tired of seeing strapless wedding gowns. Don't like the "fad" of the new billowy skirts that have different tufts pinned up and kind of look like frosting - no one can look good in that.

Cake smashing in the face. It is tacky, and offensive. I hate it. When I see couples do it, I actually lose respect for them. They spend a ton of money to seem respectable, classy, and elegant then shove food up each others nostrils.
The garter retrieval. Not the throwing, but the going and getting the thing. For some reason I just think it is inappropriate.
How many stupid dances do I have to watch? The first dance of the bride and groom, I'm good with that. They should kick off the dancing. But 30 mins later I'm still watching people dance and have yet to dance myself. I can only look entertained for so long.

Where everybody tries to go one-up on the next person. Like their best friends wedding had 3 bridemaids so they need 4. or their friend was brought in a limo- so they ride up on a horse. or their friend spent 20k- they need to spend 30k...
that and how it has went from a celebration of family and friends simple affair to a full blown circus..
Oh and my favorite thing to hate- those STUPID dances!! I am NOT doing the chicken dance, macarena, electric slide, bunny hop, train, YMCA or any other kooky dance...
Simple easy planning with mom and daughter to now needing to incorporate every single person you know into having some part of this festival.
Yes- i am planning a wedding and when I hear of all those "good old day" stories from long time married couples where it was so easy to plan, just a few people- i yearn for that...lol
Can you hand me some Tylenol please?

I wish so much that bridal registry associates would quit telling couples that it is OK to include their registry info in the invitation!!! It IS NOT OK, and the couple come across as money grubbing gimme pigs.
I'd also like to see the whole honeymoon, home improvement, just-give-us-cash registries go away too. Again, the couple just comes across as money grubbing gimme pigs.
While gifts are customary, they are *NEVER* obligatory.

rice throwing; it hurts! and is dangerous for the birds, cake smashing: wedding dresses are expensive!!, drunken toasts: erm...a drunk plus a speech could lead to some pretty awkward moments, "giving away the bride": sentimental yes, but the bride is choosing to marry, so it shouldn't be as if she's a trophy for the wall, white dresses: bright white doesn't look very good on many people, plus it stains easily!!

Neither of mine are trends.
Cake smooshing is an abusive act. I wish people would understand that. It isn't funny, it isn't cool.
And that women officiants are every bit as ordained, licensed & capable as any man when performing a ceremony. We have gotten over the fact that women can be good doctors, and women can be CEOs but I still come up against couples wanting a man to perform their ceremony.

Smooshing the cake in the face of your newly wedded hubby/wife.
I think it is a horrible tradition and my groom and I will not be doing that at our wedding.

I also hate the cake smashing....that's just stupid... I hate the garter thing...It's just weird for your groom to be digging up your dress in the middle of the room with your friends and family...bizarre.
