My fiance is in the delayed entry program for the Marines and we want to know when Tricare coverage begins. (at the start of boot camp? after boot camp?...)

We also plan on getting married before he goes to boot camp. When would the coverage begin applying to me?

Because he is on the DEP program, nothing begins until he reports to Basic Training. He will need a copy of the marriage certificate to get you placed as his dependant on DEERS and enrolled in TRICARE. Tricare prime is the best coverage they have to offer.

No cause I dont think you will be able to get a ID card until he get done with basic. Yea he will need to add you as a dependant during his paper work, and it might be something a little extra he has to do while at MEPS, but again not sure I dont think you will be enrolled in TRICARE till his first duty assignment.

For him it wont start until he gets his ID card, so right before he actually starts basic. For you it will be once he gets the paperwork to you for you to go and get your ID and enroll in DEERS.
