Tattoos hurt differently depending on their location. The most sensitive areas to me were upper back and close to the arm pit.
Least pain full would be your butt, belly, waist and outer upper arms.
For me, the outline is always the worst part. After that it's just annoying pain, not excruciating or blinding, just uggh.
Nutrition has a lot to do with how a body handles the shock it goes through when being tattooed. Eating a good meal before you get work done and drinking plenty of water/orange juice will give the body plenty of resourses to burn through and keep you from shaking. Bring lollipops for added sugar rush if you feel shakey.
If the pain gets to be just unbearable, you can always stop and schedule another appointment to finish. It's okay to do that as long as the outline is complete.
PS. Just saw added detail that you have given birth x 2.
A tattoo will be no sweat for you mama.

I think it depends on where you get it and your tolerance for pain. You've had two kids I'm sure you could take it almost anywhere. I hear the ribs is the most painful followed by the feet/hands and on the spine along the spinal cord. I got my 1st one on my shoulder/back and I swear to you it didn't hurt at all It was so unpainful that I don't even remember getting it. The second one I got is on my lower back to the right not where my waist is but about 2 inches about that. I tell you I've never felt such pain before. It was terrible I cried I almost quit after the outline cause it just hurt so bad. It feels like burning your skin 5 seconds at a time. Someone told me where ever the skin is tougher it hurts less. Good luck!

The first thing I tell people before they get a tat is be sure you really want it, because it will be on your body for the rest of your life. Now, the pain level depends mostly on who does the art and where you get in on your body. The rule of thumb is the closer to a bone the worse the pain, because the nerves are closer to the skin surface in a bony area. For me the most painful place was my ankle. I have one on my wrist that was almost pain free and several on my back that were not bad at all however, I like getting tattoos and I have a very high pain threshold. As a woman I would never get one on my breast because the artist has to constantly wipe the ink and blood away and I personally don't want some strange person rubbing my breast. I have a friend that regrets one done on her lower back because she said the pain was very intense. Remember pick something you can live with the rest of your life.

You are going to get very differing answers, depending on the idividuals' pain tolerance and where the tat is located. From my experience, the back labor I had with my kids was substantionally more painful than any of my tats. The tats, with the exception of one of my ankle, pretty much felt like a bad sunburn that someone was running their finger over. But once the needle stopped, the pain stopped. The ankle was a bit more painful, but again, once the needle stopped the pain stopped. If you are looking for a less painful location, anyplace that is not over the bone. The ones I got on my upper arms and upper thighs were a piece of cake. My ankle and around my wrist were the worst of the bunch.

Of all the tattoos I have, the least painful was on my back hip/butt area or the outside of the thigh.
The most painful place in my opinion was my calf and knee.
Tomorrow I'm getting a tattoo on my foot and I'm guessing thats going to hurt worse than the knee.
I don't think tattoos hurt as bad as most people think, they hype themselves up and freak themselves out over nothing. It won't be that bad, trust me.
While pain and most/least painful locations will vary from person to person, usually areas with thin skin, close to the bone or organs or lots of nerve ending are always going to hurt more. I think you'll be fine since you've gone thru birth TWICE. Just relax and go to a skilled and reputable artist. Good luck.

I understand you like yourself I have 2 kids and a marriage so our pain threshold is pretty high i assume. I have 2 tats one on each shoulder and my husband has some on his calf and his forearms and he said all his hurt somewhat(lots of faces) but that his forearms hurt more than his leg while my shoulders didnt hurt until he got by my underarm so to me bony places hurt less than fleshy places and thats what my artist told me as well. So i cant tell you about other places than shoulders yet but im in the works to get more done soon and some people say they have a high pain level but cry when getting it done and some are reversed where mine felt tickilish until the long parts of the outlines other than that filling in can be the worst when they keep going back over the same area then wiping it down with the soapy mix they use to clean it so I recommend it the pain is not that big a deal

I have 9 tattoos and my wife has 2 and for us we never felt pain only discomfort but everyone is different and has different pain threshold. However I would suggest that you seriously consider getting a tattoo if your concerned about how sore it may be as once the tattoo artist has started then really unless you want to look silly with an incomplete tattoo then you would need to let him finish. Generally tattoos on more boney parts of your body are more uncomfy than other parts. If you do decide to get one just relax and stay calm..... good luck

it depends on location some say lower back is really painful. Some say your rib cage, and by your kidnies. i myself have 2 tattoos and neither hurt mine is on ankle and shoulder. And i am getting another one on the other shoulder in a few days. To me those place do not hurt. On top of the foot my sister got one their she said that hurt. Depends also on tolerate of pain. My husband has 2 and each time i don't know if it was the thought or what but he would sweat so bad that it poured of him and he would turn white as a ghost. Then we would have to give him a coke. If you are a woman and have had kids tattoos don't hurt.

I had one done on my lower back yesterday and to be honest.....it really hurt and i wont be going back to get another one done in a rush lol.
i never thought it would be as painfull as it actually was. people say that the outline is worse and the shading and filling in is less painful but i will dissagree it all hurts equally.
I will say that i think that there is not a place that is not going to hurt less think of it this way you are jabing yoursking at high speed is isgoing to hurt wherever you have it.
I will say that it feels like being stung by a wasp a hundred times but 1000xs worse than that.
Afterwards though it is ok my hurts very little and i am so proud of it.

It all depends on where you place it, i have one on the top of my arm which didn't really hurt that much it was just like being scratched, i also have one on the top of my left leg which really hurt, but to be honest marriage and labour are 100 times more painfull the pain form a tattoo doesn't last either mine were only sore for a few hours after.. hope that helps...
