Some consider Christians as "hauty," "narrow-minded," or that they look down on people. Those in the wrong often think this of those in the right.

If I declare that 2+2=4, I am right. Those who do not know math may tell me that I am wrong, and declare that I should be open to other answers to this question. I will not consider them, though, because I already have the right answer. Why bother?

I think anyone who has only studied one religion and claims that one religion is 100% right is narrow-minded. I also believe that someone who believes in a religion without studying it is even more narrow-minded. I believe that an athiest who has studied no religions is narrow-minded, but open-minded if they have studied many only to come up with the belief that there's is no solid proof for a God.

Personally I have studied a few religions, I have looked at evolution, and I have used my knowledge and understanding and come up with this:

WE ARE ALL WRONG, some are not even close, and the ironic thing is they are the ones that believe the most.

Some Atheists are open-minded in that they do tend to consider all the possibilities first before reaching their conclusion.

Some Christians are narrow-minded in that they often do not serious consider other alternatives before reaching their conclusion.

No one is going to claim you are narrow minded for "believing in one religion", because you can only really believe in one at a time anyways. What's narrow-minded is thinking that you are the only one who has the truth.

No, it has nothing to do with believing in only one religion. You are only narrow minded if you believe in one religion and don't respect those of other religions. In that same tone, if atheists, or agnostics, or whomever, disrespect people for believing the way they do, then they are also narrow minded.

Honestly, I believe they are both equally closed-minded. Neither Christianity or Atheism leaves room for the possibility that other beliefs are accurate. I do not believe that anyone knows the right answers. We just find what works for us and go with that.

Its said few will enter heaven and the road to hell is wide and heavily traveled.

I believe God gave all religions to people to weed out the bad ones. All religions teach the same basic fundamental truths.
And as people swear allegiance to one belief "path" and criticize and become intolerant of others it makes it easy for God to choose who is worthy and who is not.

It is because of humans inability to live according to the basic truth of "The Golden Rule" which transcends all religious dogma that the road to hell is wide and well traveled.

The key to heavens door is not religion...
The key is us. Its humans and their ability to decipher the true meaning from all the different beliefs.

The way to Heaven is the highway and all the religions are just different cars we drive to get there.......

I think that before Christians limit themselves to believing in one thing only they need to take into account that maybe they are wrong. They should educate themselves fully in all sorts of different beliefs. That way, they will not have a problem with people believing differently than they do.

It's interesting how you mention the word narrow.

Matthew 7:13,14  “Go in through the narrow gate; because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones going in through it; 14 whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it."

Yes to #1. Atheists are fools for denying God's existence.
