Because his puppet master Cheney, wants Halliburton to make as much money as they can profiteering.
EDIT: This war WASN'T about Saddam killing his people, it was supposed to be about catching the perpetrator of 9/11, which was Osama Bin Laden who was/is in Afghanistan. Bush just used 9/11 to finish his vendetta against Saddam. It worked. Now what?
EDIT: But where does Clinton say "Let's invade?", he would've worked with the UN instead of snubbing the world community. Duh, everyone realized that Saddam was a bad person that needed to be stopped, but quit blaming Clinton for Bush's fiasco.
EDIT: Gizmo, so what if Clinton used focus groups and polls, isn't a president a representative of his people? Shouldn't he do what they want? When did Bush decide the US was a dictatorship?

DZE hit the issue dead on!
As to the statement of questioner as to Bush getting whom? there never was an attempt upon his daddys life and in fact the vehicle was over 2 miles away from Bush, was from Kuwait and had nothing at all to do with US concerns. Report was debunked but as usual the bushys still rely upon heresay and BS to try and justify invasion.
How does a politcal lie begin? By a politco telling a reporter a lie and then believeing it because they see it in print.
The plan was never to just enter the area but enter , stay reap oil profits and insure it never went into Euros, and to further militarize the area and bring it into US subjugation.
There was no way US could economicly compete in energy area when all future energy rights for after lifting of sanctiions had been sold not to English Netherlands and US interest but every other country in world.
This occupation serves not just US military means but the assurance that Europe will have its percived 10 fold increase energy needs for future economic ex[pansion.

why "dont" bush.... beautiful english.......
america cannot just leave iraq. the iraqis need help learning to stand on their own feet. besides that, if america is to pull out now --- because so many feel that we are "losing" and getting nowhere, it would show a major sign of weekness. it would be a major moral boost for the insurgents and terrorist around the world. despite what many believe, this is NOT another viet nam. this is giving people freedom who rightfully deserve it, and have been surpressed for so long. unfortunatly, things have turned into a civil war in iraq. the U.S. doesn't exactly belong in the middle of it; but as a result of taking out saddam and his regime, it has come about. it is our duty to help the iraqis and not abandon them. it is sad how many people have died for this cause. an incredible amount of americans included. but, this is truly an important battle and no one is dying without a cause. our military, and our military's allies are doing something very great, and they are making incredible history. you can't support the troops if you don't support what they are doing. PLEASE SUPPORT OUR TROOPS.

I realize that after 8 years of Bill Clinton some may still not be used to a Leader who actually stands stoic for His own convictions rather than relying on Focus Groups and Polls.
President Bush will be remembered eventually by History as one of those few Presidents who were willing to sacrifice even His own reputation for what He believes is protecting His Country.
I am willing to concede that some mistakes have been made due to flawed intel. However anyone with any integrity and Patriotism must acknowledge that it is Honorable when a Leader is so willing to disregard themselves to protect the Country they serve.
Instead, America has now set in Power those who would effortlessly "Pimp" our Country for their own Career advancement.
I wonder if they have ever stopped to consider what use their precious careers would be if our homeland is over run by Islam?

Because of this guy.A group of Republican lawmakers was waiting for an elevator on Capitol Hill when one of them said in frustration to his colleagues, "What's with Cheney? Anybody know?" One colleague muttered, "The guy's getting a little strange, seems to me. Big chip on his shoulder." Vice President Dick Cheney has re-emerged from the shadows, causing a new ripple of speculation about whether his pit-bull attitude serves the president well, whether he's the one dictating Iraq policy, whether he's even thinking clearly. Cheney, who was in charge of vetting potential running mates for George W. Bush in 2000 and ended up taking the job himself, is an enigma to many. Whether swearing at a Democrat on the Senate floor or calling former defense chief Donald Rumsfeld the best secretary of defense in U.S. history, Cheney's conduct makes even some Republicans nervous. Presidential contender Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., and Cheney have butted heads over U.S. torture policy, with McCain, a Vietnam POW for five years, demanding the White House forbid it. In an interview with a Capitol Hill newspaper, McCain said of Cheney, "The president listens too much to the vice president. Of course, the president bears the ultimate responsibility, but he's been very badly served by both the vice president and, most of all, the secretary of defense (Rumsfeld).

Because if we come home it will be catastrophic in the Middle East please do not be blinded in your own ignorance just because you hate bush. I hate the man with every little inch of me. But I’m smart enough to know if we just leave in the middle of the night the whole Middle East will go up in flames. But I don’t know what else we can do. You can't heal ancient religious scars definitely not us. People here actually take the Old Testament as literal truth. When even the Catholic Church recognizes it as just old stories.
If our country is overrun by islam whats that supposed to mean. How is ignoring every single person besides yourself noble.

The public screamed for a change in Iraq. His advisors advised him to change their strategy in Iraq by increasing the number of troops. So, he listened to the public and his advisors.
Now the public is screaming that they didn't want that change.
They wanted something else.
Plus, it was Bill Clinton who started publicly calling for a regieme change in Iraq...
Here are his comments in 1998...
"Saddam (Hussein) must not be allowed to threaten his neighbors or the world with nuclear arms, poison gas or biological weapons," Clinton said.
"The best way to end that threat once and for all is with a new Iraqi government -- a government ready to live in peace with its neighbors, a government that respects the rights of its people," Clinton said.
"In halting our airstrikes in November, I gave Saddam a chance -- not a license. If we turn our backs on his defiance, the credibility of U.S. power as a check against Saddam will be destroyed," the president explained.
"Saddam Hussein and the other enemies of peace may have thought that the serious debate currently before the House of Representatives would distract Americans or weaken our resolve to face him down," he said.

Because the checks and balances system of the US govt has broken down. He also knows if the war ends then people will think about domestic situation, economy, and how to pay for everything (including 100,000 permanently disabled soldiers)
Now they say he can send troops for whatever he wants with no approval. spy on anyone. and lock anyone up and torture them for as long as he wants.
How is this different than a dictatorship?
