I am sorry to hear about your mums poor health. It could simply be 'old' age that has caused your mums appetite to decrease or there may be an underlying problem that is making her unable to eat alot of the time. I would suggest making an appointment for your mum to see the doctor asap. If there is a cause for concern then the doctor can offer some alternatives/help for your mum, one maybe to put your mum on a food supplement. Meanwhile ensure that your mum gets enough fluids and encourage her to eat, try and give her small portions to at least make it look manageable. good luck

WELL That is part of getting old i have worked with the elderley for years and they never eat a lot best thing to do is let her eat as and when she wants to leave loads of sweets around buy her a nice cream cake every day get her what food she likes but dont exspect her to eat big meals they dont as they get older make her plenty of milky drinks and put honey in it as its good for her it could be that she isnt getting enough fresh air try taking her out more god bless

could be a problem thats worth seeing a doctor about but to be honest at an older age there is a much lower requirement for calories etc and fewer calories are burnt so as long as its not really dramatic it might not be too bad
