Your dinner sounds rich and filling, and you didn't mention what you were having for dessert, so an appetizer that is pleasing to the palate but not too filling may be in order. Several things come to mind:
1. veges and dip (celery, carrots, cauliflower)
2. goat cheese with pepper and crackers
3. salsa and blue corn tortilla chips
4. brie heated with a fruit topping and served with crackers
5. a plate of several kinds of salame's such as sopressata,
peppered salami, cappicola; olives stuffed with blue
cheese or jalapeno peppers, asiago cheese, provolone
and water crackers
Or you might try a combination of all of the above. You don't want your company to get full on appetizers, so keep it small and descrete. With appetizers, think about serving a Pinot Grigio or Blanc de Blanc or a red such as Sangiovese or Merlot.

It sounds like you are going to have a lot of food already so something light (veggies, fruits, cheese, crackers) would be nice but I really love this dip:
HOT ARTICHOKE DIP
2/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/3 cup half and half cream
2/3 cup mayonnaise
1/2 green pepper, chopped
1 tablespoon pimento pepper, chopped
1 (6 1/2 oz.) jar marinated artichoke hearts
1 (4 oz.) can diced green chilis
Tortilla chips
Drain jar of artichoke hearts. Chop coarsely.
Combine Parmesan cheese, cream, and mayonnaise in a medium mixing bowl. Add peppers, artichoke hearts and green chilis.
Serve with tortilla chips.

1 cup pancetta or bacon, chopped
1 roasted red bell pepper, chopped
1 cup shredded Parmigiano-Reggiano
3 tablespoons fresh flat-leaf parsley, chopped
Juice of 1 lemon
1. Place oven rack 5 inches away from the heat and set oven to broil. Place oysters on a baking sheet. Divide bacon equally among the oysters. Transfer to the oven and broil until bacon is light brown and crispy, about 3 minutes.
2. Remove oysters from oven and top with red pepper and Parmigiano Reggiano. Return oysters to oven and continue broiling until cheese has browned, about 2 minutes.
3. Remove from the oven and transfer oysters to a platter. Sprinkle platter with chopped parsley and lemon juice. Serve immediately.

Any type of garlic or melted cheese over a sourdough baguette would do for a start. You might try seared Ahi on greens, if your guests like sushi and for something different. Something like Buffalo wings or pot-stickers might be more traditional.
