Do they judge you, or do you think they do, due to your embarassment at the comparisson?
Remember, they worked HARD to get their yard to look that way.

My backyard looks like Middle Earth. I'd hate to ruin it. Luckily it is about 90 acres, so the lawn nazis are really far away. The problem out here is farmers with bad fences. I sometimes wake to find other people's cows or horses grazing in my piece of Middle Earth.

Why own a home if you aren't going to take care of it and don't care how it looks? For some people, their home is their single biggest investment. And if you're in the neighborhood driving down property values because you could care less, then they have a right to give your the "evil eye." LOL
Of course, you could live in farm country and then I'd let my goats and cows loose to chomp on that tall weedy grass of yours.

I like the term "lawn Nazi" (LOL). I really wish more people would let their lawns be more natural. I hate to think how many chemicals we are putting into our environment in an effort to have perfect lawns.

yes, I live on 3 acres and slowly it will one day be forest again . . all my nieghbors have nothing but grass in thier back yards but our yard has bushes and trees and you can't see the fence from one side of the yard to the other it is lush with brush and trees. I always get asked if I need someone to come cut it so we can see what we got back there. . I know what I got . .my own park.

Some people just don't like slobs who can keep up their lawn or their house. Your crappy lawn negatively affects the value of the neighborhood and their house. They feel the same way about you.

No, they can mow their lawn two times a day if they want and I'll glare at the cars they park on the street in front of my house. I figure we both get our aggression out on inanimate object. Her on my lawn that gets mowed twice a week and me on her car that she can't seem to park in her own driveway.
We're even.

Some people just take pride in their lawn.........they are not judging you maybe you are ashamed of your lawn and that is why you think they are judging you. Stop looking over your shoulder and who cares what anyone thinks!!

we have an aerial in our garden and the grass is several inches in length and covered in snails, but no0one cares i dont think, we are on a really steep hill and go up lodz of steps to get to it, the front garden is only about 8 feet long but about 8 feet between the pavement and front door, and gets steeper at the back, so they cant expect us to mow that!!

I take care of my lawn.
My neighbor, however, is a retired gentleman who works on his lawn 6 days a week.
Sometimes, I wish he'd give it a rest.
