I keep hearing that doing yoga has many benifits other than fitness, like spiritual and psycological benefits, what are they?
Is it less boring than going to the gym?

It's true yoga is really good for your mind, body and spirit. Yoga improves flexibility, strength, helps keep the blood circulating and keeps bones healthy. Also yoga helps you relax and gain greater peace of mind and pure happiness.

If you go to the library you can find books that show all the different yoga positions and the organs it helps cleanse. Personally I was able to beat post-partum depression with yoga...I don't know exactly how but I did. I found that the classes were much harder than just getting on a treadmill and I found it hard to go because it was so difficult. I did not find it boring at all.

Yoga is great for toning, flexibilty and quieting your mind. Also, the sense of well-being you get when you can finally do one of the really hard poses... but unless you're doing one of those power yoga classes, tthere aren't a lot of cardio benefits. I would say combine the yoga workout with a thirty minute cardio and you're set.

I think so at least. And it's damn hard work. It is great for your body and your emotional/spiritual (not religious) health. Instead of just sitting there on a bicycle, treadmill, etc., you listen to someone lead you in exercises, you get human contact (the instructor walks around and helps you with your poses) and usually, they do some meditation at the very end. You'll leave there feeling totally rejuvenated.

Not necessarily. It is still a series of stretching exercises done in a group.
