I did her wedding cakes at half price.Worked the wedding for free.Her mom gives me her discount at store she manages.mom has cancer,so hairdresser comes here.She's very sweet,I want to be fair with the tip.I purchased all the products needed,she will do the hair.I want it to be worth her time .I don't want to give too little and I don't want to go overboard either.We live paycheck to paycheck.

you should give 15-20% of what she would 'normally' charge for what she's doing for free! that's what I would do..

Something like would probably run you about $150-$200 per head. I think you should tip her generously. If you were having it done in a salon you would have to pay the price plus tip the stylist. Being a former hairdresser I loved doing my friends hair it was a lot of fun. Show how greatful you are for your friends time, she will appreciate it.
