Windows Movie Maker will do that, and it is pretty simple to use. You can then burn the movie to a CD or DVD.

You need a program to do that.

I highly recommend Proshow by Photodex. It isn't free but it is a wonderful program. You can add music, adjust the length of music, fade in & out etc. With your pictures you can set the display time and choose between hundrens of transitions, wipes etc.

The program is very intuitive. I did my first show without using a help menu at all. Later I ran the tutorial which taught me some new tricks.

I don't work for the company I am just very pleased with the software.

You can read about it here and trust me you will love it. It will do exactly what you say you want to do - http://www.photodex.com/
