I love my Elantra. still haven't had a problem with it and it's a 98. A few years back Hyundai had a bad rep.. but they've really picked it up since then. Now, I hear their customer service and warranties are the best around.
good luck.

I have a 2000 Elentra and Have had to replace the trany. It cost me 3k to buy a new, because the old was was to bad. Hyundai told me the second owner doesn't get the 10 year/ 100k mile warranty.
My dad has a 2002 Accent and has also had to replace the trany. Luckily he was still under warranty. We checked forums and found out that Hyundai's have a problem with their automatic transmission. I had 81k miles when my trany went out and my dad had 92k.
If you are to buy one buy a stick and buy it new.

No links. But out of personal experience, I advise against buy a Hyundai. I had a new 2004 Elantra that kept breaking down. Not a very good car in my opinion.

I worked at a Hyundai dealership. If the previous owner did the required service, then the answer would be, yes. If they did not, you may need to spend several hundred to have that work done. Especially the 60k and the 90k maintenance.
Keep in mind one thing... THIS IS NOT A TOYOTA!

Depends on how you define good. Comfort? Ride? Drive? Price? Reliability?
I am currently driving the Elantra '07. I am VERY happy with it. Good low to mid range torque, smooth gear shifts (Auto) as well as being really easy on fuel

the new ones have an unbeatable warranty 10years 100k miles you cant go wrong for the price i think they go for $10,000.00 new. I don't really recommend buying it used unless you are going to get the remainder of the warranty usually only if you buy it from a used car dealer and except to pay close to the original price.

Mazda 3 is advantageous, Scion xD, and the Honda in fantastic condition are sturdy. might want to work out what the Ford concentration electric powered motor vehicle is going for while it comes out on the top of the year. The Mazda 3 looks sharp.

they are a good car if they have been looked after and serviced, just like any other car. the warranty is not just for the first owner, who ever said that is full of ****. depending on the price and condition i would go for one.
