You could give him an item of your clothing (unwashed ) so he can still smell you ..Put it in his crate beside him ..

Good luck

You can try several things, first is put a ticking clock near his crate, with some pups this helps, others not so much.

You can also try putting a shirt that you have worn (an old one you don't mind getting chewed) in his crate. The smell of you near him.

Also, when he whines at night, you kinda should just let him. Sounds mean, but if they learn that you come when they whine, they will keep at it.

Something you might want to try, prolly won't work for you though, is leaving a light on for your pup or having a night light. My 2 year old dog still won't sleep without a night light on. I have NO IDEA why. She is a very weird pup.

Hope these help you ~

Siberian Husky's require alot of attention. You could leave an ite, of your clothing unwashed in his crate or even move the crate into ur room on just outside your room untill he can settle down at night, after all he is only a pup still.

Well try bring his crate upstairs with you. Or give him a shirt or a old blanket that has your smell on it. Another idea is let him sleep on a dog pillow next to you. If you don't want him to go pee in the house. then tie him to the foot of the bed only let him have just room to turn around. Plus before bed not let him eat or drink and take him out before u put him up. Let me know how this ideas work for you. They worked for my husky.

There are so very valid answers. The towel, or sweaty shirt works well. Put some music on, something you normally listen to. You can bring him upstairs with you on a doggie bed (but monitor his potty habits).

Put a few toys in there (kong w/ treats jammed inside) and let him work on that for a while. A dog that young will be busy for a while.

Make it a big deal for him to be in his crate. A special treat only when he's in his crate.

Good Luck

We put our Husky pup in his kennel upstairs with us. He learned how to run downstairs every morning to let him out and do his business. Giving him something with your scent also helps. I have heard that putting a ticking clock also helps as it reminds the puppy of his moms heart beating. Huskys are very social dogs and require other dogs or people to keep them company. Your are going to realize very soon that you will need to get him another dog to keep him company when you are not there. Ours got into lots of trouble when he was young and alone. He tore up sprinklers and chewed up everything. We ended up having to get a female. They are also very agile and can jump over low fences and scale walls easily. You will need a dog run if your walls aren't high enough. They are great dogs but are too smart for their own good.

Come on mate he's only a baby as yet and only just left his mum and brothers and sisters. Be patient with him and put him to bed and go to bed yourself, if he cries treat him as a baby, go down, make sure he does not need anything and then put him to bed again. You need to be patient he will settle eventually. Do not make a rod for your own back by not leaving him alone now. By the way do you realise how much exercise he will need, you'd better get fit now. Good luck, he will settle in time.

Place an item of clothing (unwashed) or something with you scent on it in the crate with your puppy. Heat this item up in the dryer or place something warm inside the scented garment. The warmth will help, but be sure it is nothing that he can chew on and harm himself with. Also, before you crate him up, tell him "time for bed". He will become accustomed to this. DO NOT get up and stay up with him or he will expect this. Just bare with it.

huskies get very lonely, you can try putting bottle of hot water (wrapped in a cloth) a ticking clock and a stuffed animal or two. dont give in and visit him. He will learn that all he has to do is cry and you'll come running. just give him time, he will come around :-) good luck!

my husky does not even have a create. I allow her to sleep were ever she wants. which mostly is in the bedroom in her doggie bed or in our bed. these dogs hate being alone. therefore put the crate or a doggie bed in your room.

give them a rag with your smell on it and leave the radio on... often dogs need that human voice to sooth them
a radio chat show quietly running in the background will probably work.
All huskies are very possesive dogs anyway and love the attention of one or two close owners
