My bichon/poodle puppy loves a whole variety of toys. His favs would be squeeky toys, rope toys and anything that moves a lot or is noisy when shaken with his mouth.
But for all my dogs one was always a winner and its the cheapest to give them. A plastic water/pop bottle. Take out the paper label, take off the cap and cut out the plastic ring on the neck. Give it a few sqeezes and watch them go nuts over it. Different sizes for a change or size of dog. Great for interactive play with your pooch, kick and make it slide around for chase. But like all toys, make sure to throw it out once the dog has punctured the plastic. I generally don't leave it more than a day and definitely remove it from him overnight. Not recommended for extremely aggressive chewers.

I actually have a comment about what someone posted about a laser pointer. Some dogs can develop a form of OCD that leads them to become obsessed with lights and shadows. The dog will constantly search for the light even when you're not playing with them, and they may also chase shadow's and jump at light patterns on your walls or ceilings.
But as far as toys my dog loves any plastic toy that squeaks when she chews it, but then she destroys it 5 minutes later.

I have dobermans and most toys are destructed in less than 10 minutes. However, their favorite toys are kongs filled with peanut butter and squished up banana and frozen; and treat balls that I fill with a mixture of kibble, dog cookie pieces, and human "goldfish" crackers. Keeps them occupied for hours... but be warned: the sound of those balls rolling all over the house can really be annoying (we have hardwood and tile floors)!

My French Bulldogs and Bernese Mountain Dog go nuts over any toy that squeaks or moves, and my Belgian Malinois only goes nuts over food.

i have a plush ball the size of a soccer ball with two noise makers inside, my big dog plays with it until he's to exhausted to move. The little one loves empty chip dip containers, he carries it around, guards it, chases it... its not the fact that it smells like food, he shares food. Strangest thing!

My boy Kaiser has a big stuffed fish, it is about 3 feet long. He goes nuts for it. When he is done with tracking he knows he gets his fish!

My Dalmatian is easy to please, he loves ice cream pail lids and tennis balls. I bought him a neat red ball that lights up but he wasn't thrilled with it. My Rotty on the other hand loves the light up ball but I have to hide it from him so he doesn't destroy it! He likes to rip apart stuffed doggie toys too!
