Why do people assume that the constitution calls for a separation of church and state! What the constitution specifically states is that the Government of the United States will not be involved in a State Sponsored religion.
The reasons for this is that the King of England was both the head of state and also head of the church of England giving him absolute secular and non-secular power. Our founding fathers wanted to ensure that our leaders in government would not hold dual offices and become too powerful.
Wake up and read the constitution, I am so sick of hearing this seperation of church and state mantra from the left when no such thing ever existed.

What offends me is the constant preaching of "Separation Of Church and State" as part of the constitution. I believe you should be able to practice any form of religion without fear of Government prosecution.

That is what separation of Church and State is suppose to mean. People have twisted its meaning. Thomas Jefferson wrote the Separation of Church & State in a letter... I believe it is inspired by the Lord. It actually protects us from corrupt spiritual leaders and the harm they can do.
Otherwise we would have State sponsored spiritual leaders who could be the antichrist. And they would be paid for it.

The ***PRAYNOGRAPHER*** will speak to this question, because his wisdumb is All knowing. You would be wise to listen to his words of wisdumb.Speaking to the amendment to the constitution in regards to religion, and government. It reads like this. The government shall not RESPECT the establishment of any religion, or block the establishment of any religion. For you children of god that do not know what the word RESPECT means please look it up.Many of you can not read ,or comprehend what you read. I The ***PRAYNOGRAPHER***will explain it to you. RESPECT: To show, or hold in high regard for one thing over another Now do you think you can figure out what that means. When it comes to religions the govt. must stay neutral. In other words stay out of the business of promoting , or demoting any religion,be separate from, not encourage one over the other. Do the simple xristian minds on this panel get it. The***PRAYNOGRAPHER***thinks the term should say "The separation of church and brain.I think it would be safe to say that xristians, at least most of the ones I have known , do not have a working brain. They must be led around like a puppy on a leash. Churches do not pay their fair share in taxes,or don't pay any . Then they should stay out of a government they do not support. The ***PRAYNOGRAPHER***has spoken. Now go away and be born again before I spank you!!!!

The Constitution does NOT say that the Government will not be involved in State Sponsered religion.
It says that it will pass NO laws establishing one.
That there would be no attempt to establish a common religion for the country

Thank you! It's good to know that there are other people who understand that issue. It is absurd to think that a government would discourage religion in a nation. Organized religions promote responsibility, morality, and conformity, all traits that help maintain a stable society. Religion is GOOD for a culture.

The State can separate the physical church from the physical state. But it can never separate a loving American and an his lord and savior Jesus Christ.
