Got me curious, because, when I was a little kid, real maple syrup was a sometime gift from a mysterious benefactor in Vermont; found two on websites:

Maple-butter sauce

1 cup pure maple syrup
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice

Whisk all ingredients in heavy small saucepan over low heat until butter melts. Cool until slightly thickened, whisking occasionally. (Can be made 3 days ahead; chill.)

APPLEBEES' MAPLE BUTTER SAUCE

1/2 stick unsalted butter
1 pkg cream cheese
1/4 cup condensed milk
3/4 pkg. white chocolate chips
1 tsp maple flavor

Melt butter, cream cheese, and white chocolate in a saucepan with the milk. It should be a low heat; hot enough to melt, but not scald. Add flavor to taste, about a teaspoon. Stir together as melting, and use a whisk at the end to blend well.

Edit: here is another:

Maple Pecan Butter Sauce
1 c. maple syrup
1/2 c. butter, cut into pieces
1/4 c. sugar
1 large egg lightly beaten
1 tables. vanilla extract
1 c. pecan pieces.

In a medium saucepan, combine maple syrup, butter, sugar, and egg over medium heat. Simmer 6 minutes whisking constantly. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Just before serving stir in pecan pieces.

1/4 cup Heavy Cream
1/2 pound Butter cut into 1 ounce pieces

Reduce shallots and wine over high heat until just dry. Add the syrup and cream; reduce until thick enough to coat a spoon. Remove from heat and whisk in the butter, piece by piece.
Must be made no more than a half hour before using. Enjoy
