Sure, all religious moderates are designed to be wrong and is this so hard to understand religion is about money not God. God does not need your money, God wants you to follow him to have a good moral life to be an example to others. Moderates say and do what is necessary to get the most money and try and hold some moral ground for they know the only way to receive God's judgment is to reject God, this will be the down fall of mankind, but the religions of the world do not care for they are rich and in need of nothing from God as long as the money flows.
Moral ground is failing all around us and people do not have a clue why God will destroy us. He would have to raise the people of Sodom and Gomorrah from the dead to let things go on as they are.
But remember God put us in this condition with disobeying one word how much more should judgment fall upon us for people doubting so much of God's word the Holy Bible and call our selves a Christian Nation.
This Nation is a breeding ground for atheist, agnostics, white supremacy group, hate groups and all such things because as a Nation we have rejected God. Only judgment is looming now.

That makes no sense. All or nothing what? Are moderates closer to atheism than fundamentalists? Stop getting your sociology of religion from Sam Harris and Richard Dawkins. Read them for pep-rally atheist stump speeches.

[edit] I am reading End of Faith, too. He never defines his terms, which makes the whole project rather useless. If you agree with him, it is very difficult to know exactly what you are agreeing with, other than some general condemnation of religious hocus pocus and suicide bombing. To disagree is to attack a ghost of a position he has built.

Yes, it should be all or nothing: all truth encompasses both religion and science. Religious reformers and moderates are striving to find a structure of thought which comprehends both religion AND science.

The all or nothing premise is wrong. It assumes that people are unable to understand how to live in a complex and diverse society. If that is true we are in big trouble. The all or nothing crowd are the ones who have it all wrong. Their extreme beliefs put all of our freedoms at risk.

Dishonest to whom? If I believe something is right or wrong, I believe that and if I act or speak accordingly then Im not being dishonest to anyone. If I believe that abortion is wrong, but act or say that it is right... or vise versa,.... then I am being dishonest. I dont think there are a lot of people really being dishonest about how they feel about something unless they just say it or do it to please someone else.

Compaired with Mormons and Catholics just about everything is moderate. Are you mormon or Catholic? If not, your christianity allows a lot of things that would be a serious sin to a lot of people.

Interesting.
You make a good point. If, for example, Jesus is the one true way to heaven, then tolerance for other faiths doesn't make any sense. For the christian they would, by definition, be wrong/false.
