There are probably a great deal of women out there who have children because that's what they're supposed to do, not because it's what they want to do. I suspect this makes it very difficult to love something you didn't really want, but was expected of you, and that takes up so much of your time, energy, and identity.

There are lots of women who get pregnant and bear children who have absolutely no business doing so.

More than people would like to admit; ultimately, it's impossible to come up with a number. Having a uterus doesn't mean you would make good mother.
