The majority of cross country races here take place in the morning. There are a few weekday or late afternoon races but not many. It is important to warm up and then stretch so that you don't get injured. The warmup for us is about 1 mile @ about 8 minute pace. This is to get blood flowing before you stretch. Getting blood flowing before you stretch is important as stretching "cold" muscles will do very little. Yes, stretching without a warmup will be better than no stretching @ all but its best to warm up the muscles. The mornings can also be when your body is sore from a previous day as muscle soreness takes close to a day or longer to catch up with you. Stretching also makes you more flexible and less prone to injury as I said earlier.

hi! I ran xc this year as a freshman and it became very relaxing. My coaches continually advised me to no longer substitute what you eat in the past a race. What you have been ingesting in the past each prepare (and you sense sturdy) you could probable eat in the past the race. some thing that i ate in the past became peanut butter on toast or a banana, and approximately an hour until race time, i had a nil.5 of a power bar. yet this became my first year so i'm no longer very experienced, yet my coaches have been :). that's had to be hydrated for the vast race. So verify you drink a great number of water an afternoon or 2 in the past. Then approximately 10 minutes in the past the race that's sturdy to drink approximately 0.5 a bottle so which you at the instant are not bloated. To run your superb, %. your self and now your limits. attempt to get swifter each mile, yet stay mushy. you do no longer prefer to commence dying interior the 1st 0.5 mile. yet interior the final 4 hundred or 2 hundred meters, thats once you provide it your all and run as rapid as you could. My coaches continually advised me to run with poise, purpose, and fervour. All you're able to do is your superb and you'd be able to continually get extra appropriate. sturdy success!! :)

If you don't warm up, you muscles will be cold and stiff, which can lead to pulled muscles and other (sometimes serious) injuries.
