Dear Stepehen, Wow, I agree completely, The Oh, you just have a God shapped vacuum (not the cleaner) in your heart, and it needs ot be filed" , is the biggest hoax ever, it has caused us to get away from the true Bibleical Gospel law to the proud, grace to the Humble. we have gotten away from using God Holy moral law, which brings conviction of sin and cause to bring forth true fruits of repentace toward God. When we speak the true and uncompramising Gospel, a true change of heart takes place and thats what we want to aim for, repentace. The :God shaped vacuum (not the cleaner)" is simply aPloy, because were afraid if we use the Law, and words usch as Sin, righteo9usness and Judgement to come, we migh offedn somebody. One of my Favorite evangelist trainers Ray Comfort said "the person you are wittnesing to shold either get angry or get converted." I agree with mr. Comfort. Way Of the Master Radio Host, Todd Friel, has said that offense is not of the messenger, but of the message. Howevr, I would not want to stand beofre God, knowing I preached a false Gospel, that wuod terrify me. and Most importantly, If I care for that persons soul, I wil seek to tel them the truth, even if it hurts. That verse you Quoted, is one of my favorite, it is a prime exmaple of christ using the Law. Jesus was touching on the essence of the second of the Ten Commandments "you shall not make any graven image", this mans Idol was His riches and Money, Furhter more, this is positive proof that we need to use the law, because men are idolatrous and proud. I hope we will neevr become complacent, and always preach the true gosple, for the sake of their souls.
God Bless

You have me confused, what is a God shaped hole, never heard that before.all I can say is in that story, when the man approached Jesus ,He told Jesus i kept all the commandments, i did every thing right, what else must i do to gain Heaven and yes he walked away from Jesus because money was more important, than God.

I do agree. But this scripture is misquoted and misinterpreted so often. Jesus knew the rich young ruler's heart....but he does not ask EVERYBODY to sell all they have. Notice that Jesus never asked Mary, Martha and Lazarus to sell their house in Bethany. He knew their hearts. It's a matter of the heart, and only God (and Jesus, because He is God in human flesh) can judge that.

"For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil."
It's not: "Money is the root of all evil." That's been miss-quoted for a very long time.
So, it's not money but the love of it. Being rich isn't the issue. The issue is allow anything (including money) to come between you and the living God and you are putting your eternity in grave danger.

question is why do people come on right here to bash one yet another era? i ought to work out to invite someone how they see issues or how they sense about issues, or what are your beliefs? compared to different's...yet to really bully and call call is only incorrect. If it receives to you, do not come on for a lengthy time period, and resources it a relax. you'll locate peace that way. Coming right here's like strolling between a conflict zone and ducking stones being hurled lower to and fro.

One example is pointing out the innate desire and need for God.
The other example is pointing out the need to repent before one can fill that need.
Both are part of the whole equation.
