Mark 4 pretty much states that Jesus would speak in parables in order to confuse people so they would end up in hell. Seems as though if he so wanted to save people he wouldn't have used confusing jargon to spread his teachings. In any situation a normal person does not give advice that could have hundreds of possible meanings if they are really wanting to help For example lets say your riding in a car & the driver is not paying attention & is heading straight for a tree Which would be more effective in order to save everyone in the car would you say HEY YOUR ABOUT TO HIT A TREE!!!!! or something completely ridiculous like The path you have so blindly chosen is full of many great obstacles some of which can cause great pain should you collide with one so deeply rooted in the earth. Seems to me as though Jesus didn't really want to save everyone, not much of a savior in my opinion What sayeth you oh Y/A Jesus lovers

The authors that created his dialogue were a little to artsie-fartsie for their own good.. They wanted to write in poetic prose and try to sound intellectual.. They ended up making Yehoshua bin Yosef al Nazareth sound like a complete hippy, air-head.. It's all a game of operator in the "new testament".. Why weren't their writings about "Jesus" that orginated in his own time period.. Why does everything originate thirty to sixty years after his death? Why are all the books ATTRIBUTED to Matthew, Mark, Luke and Paul when in actuality they were written almost a half-century later..

It's all paradigms that I have taken off my shoulders and thrown into the dustbin of eternity.. I walk much more fleet of foot and I'm able to ask questions like "Who, What, Why, Where, How and When?" and not get politico double-talk as a response..

Can you name anyone better? He spoke in parables so that His enemies the Sadducee's and Pharisees could not understand what He was saying and interfere sooner than they did and destroy His early ministry.

Your example of the car and driver does not apply in this issue.

His teachings are clear enough for those as He said; "Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing, see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand." Matthew 13:13. Further along in vs. 35, He said; "That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the beginning of the world. " Making reference to Psalm 49:4; 78:2.

The Merriam -Webster dictionary describes a parable as. "A short fictitious story that illustrates a moral attitude or a religious principle."

Most of His parables were about nondescript daily events. That of the sower, a builder, a cook, a buried treasure. Perhaps the most famous is that of the rich man and the beggar. It is the only one in which Jesus mentions someone by name. Because the example was real!

Why do you sound so tacky about your little demo about the tree??? Thats just the way they spoke back then, I really think you are being disrespectful to Jesus. HE IS OUR SAVIOR! Read your bible, get a different translation, new century is awesome. He will tell you"Hey your about to hit that tree!!!!!" Jesus wants us to come to him!! I think you need to get on your knees and ask for forgiveness! Quick!
Acts 2:21 (New Living Translation)
But everyone who calls on the name of the Lord
will be saved.
GEE THATS PRETTY CONFUSING TO ME...

He was at one time. Well, not our saviour; but he was the savior of some people he came in contact with during his preaching, and helped people with problems -- we just don't know what all is true and what is folklore.

But they made a big legend out of his life, cause of his charisma and charm; and pretty soon they were calling him the Son of God, and eventually they were saying he's not just the Son of God -- HE IS GOD. They really got carried away.

Now today you see seemingly intelligent people believing he is a savior and a God, and it's really absurd.
