Assuming you have a great warranty on the plasma, give it a try. You are correct to be concerned with any movement to the door impacting the plasma hardware. The very nature of the plasma screen manufacturing process does have some built in robustness to the glass panel, but the individual parts that connects the electronics are fragile. Hang at your own risk (huge risk), but have a great warranty as backup.
