Im pregnant w/ my 1st baby. I met this lady (who is Mexican) and she asked me what race was I and I told her Puerto Rican she then asked if my baby father was puerto rican also and I said no he is black.
She told me that I would be marked for the rest of my life and that no one would want my child and that my child will not be accepted by either races. and that my relationship with him would not last with my child father. And that if I try to be with someone else no one would want me because my child is mix. She then told me I shold really concider having an abortion. I fell bad. How could people be so ignorant.

Oh my gosh, the gaul of that woman to say such horrible things to you!!

The only way I would feel bad if I were you is to feel bad for that woman. What a terribly narrow mind to go through life with. She is wrong, VERY wrong and I hope you don't take into consideration ONE THING she said to you.

Disgusting, and not worth you spending one moment pondering over. She is very ignorant indeed and is not worth your time.

Your baby will be beautiful and LOVED, and he or she will NOT be shunned because he or she is mixed race. I wish you and your family all the best!!

Because people are idiots... they have an old school way of thinking that is a little outdated in today's society. I don't think that you should have an abortion and I don't think you should feel bad. Your baby is conceived out of love and that's all that matters, and race has nothing to do with whether or not your relationship will last. I went through something similar except that my daughter's dad's family are all Jehovah Witness and I'm not at all and we had a child out of wedlock and at first some members of his family refused to acknowledge our baby because of that... until they met her. Once people hold that sweet child, all of that crap goes out the window because at that point, it's not about race or religion, it's about a human being. Don't worry about it and save yourself the stress and don't go around that woman again, people with that kind of mentality can put too much stress on you while you are pregnant.

Tell them to take a look around.. the whole world is a huge melting pot. I personally think you are going to have a beautiful baby! I love "mixed" babies and people. I'm sorry to hear that in this joyous time in your like you are being bombarded with such ignorant and insulting thoughts.
You will have to be strong for the both of you and just stay above all that racism. Don't get an abortion unless that is what you want then please for the life of your child think of other alternatives like adoption. Your baby needs you and will always need you. Tell your family to butt out and stop listening to the m-woman.
stay strong and be proud.

Learn to ignore ignorant people like that. My neice is the mother, to 3 bi-racial children. Her sister, my other neice also has a bi-racial child. They are 4 of the most beautiful and precious children you will ever find.Unfortunately, there will always be people like this woman. For the most part people like that are uneducated about other races. Just love your baby, and teach the child that most people are nice and caring, but sometimes you have a few sour grapes in the bunch.

Why do you feel bad???? That was rude of her to say to begin with. Have you noticed that different races hang out with each other and are great friends.???? I think some people play the race card a little too much. I am sure your baby is going to be beautiful and loved by all. Congrats and Good Luck. Don't worry about what people think about you or your child, they just don't have anything else to complain about.

The lady sure was pretty nosy wasn't she? How long has she been a "fortune teller?" (joke) Don't listen to what others say because there are a lot of ignorant people in this world, unfortunately. She doesn't walk in your shoes, so just ignore people like her. She's not only ignorant, she's STUPID!!!!

Raise your child the very best you can & raise him not to be predjudice against any race like the lady you spoke to!

Quitta Q....I loved your answer!!!!!!

Don't listen to who ever said that they are probably just jealous if you are happy with your baby and your baby's father that is all that matters. If your relationship doesn't last long someone else will accept you,you just gotta look for the right person that will love you and your baby. But what ever you do don't consider having an abortion

You shouldn't feel bad! I'm sure that you will make a great mother as will your baby's father. Race doesn't matter! Some people just cant accept the fact that people are getting into inter-racial relationships now a days!

I personally believe that mixed babies are always so much more beautiful than same race children...a friend of mine is white her hubby is Mexican and their daughter is absolutely gorgeous! Just remember that one day she/he may come home upset due to some stupid person making a stupid racial comment and that you will have to keep your calm and calm him/her down....I don't understand anyone anymore that lady was in the wrong not you or your baby!
