Like most things, abortion is not plainly good or evil, nor morally neutral. It can be good (to save a mother's life or to prevent a child from bring born with problems that would be extremely painful), or it can be evil (abortion as a birth control).
One thing it's not: business of anyone other than the mother and the father - whoever is going to care for the baby.

I could never have an abortion but have a friend that has. She has really regretted it. I was adopted and I am thankful that my birthmother and her mother knew that a 16 year old girl should not have a child and made the decision to give me life in 2 ways. Birth and letting me grow up with parents that were a little more "settled" into their lives.
As far as being evil??? My friend is not evil. She was in a bad time. I have sadness over the whole situation for her and the unborn child.

Hmmm, this is a touchy subject. I believe it's very wrong, except in the case of rape perhaps. I would hate for a girl to become pregnant from a rape incident, and carry a baby for 9 months and being constantly reminded of such a horrible thing. Thats the only time I believe abortion is acceptable. But it's all the same- killing a baby, no matter what the circumstance. Even if the girl is young and can't care for a child, she should carry the child and give it up for adoption after she's had the baby. There are plenty of families and women out there waiting and waiting to have a child for their own, don't waste a life when it can be given to someone else and bring joy to the child and parents life. Not to mention being able to live with yourself the rest of your life knowing you didn't kill a child and let it live a happy life with someone who really could care for it. Thats my opinion at least.

Killing innocent human beings is evil, and every abortion kills an innocent human being. If you doubt this, take a look at:

d. ideally, only those with "valid" motives must have abortions (this question has a subsection to outline "valid", indexed less than) (it is an ethical quite than criminal question) subsection.: "valid" motives for this situation contain 2. serious threat to the mummy's life A life for a life. And if the mummy dies even as the newborn continues to be in her, the newborn also will die. For i-l i ought to guage myself to be between ok and l. ok appears like abortion must be ok if a condom broke or if the mummy had a non-life threatening ailment. l sound like a probability to the mummy's life would not unavoidably justify abortion. i'm between those positions. tonalc2 What if Dad receives indignant and starts beating his new child? Or if Dad is horny, and his little lady occurs to be reachable? Or, what if Daddy does no longer go with to pay new child help? ought to the authorities stay out of those own, deepest judgements?

its based on so many factors that you cant answer this without going into all of those.
i dont disagree with abortion for the correct reasons, medical ones, or rape for example. but if a girl has just gone and got herself knocked up and uses it as some form of contraception because they werent careful in the first place, i believe thats a terrible thing to do, especially when there are so many childless families waiting for a chance to be parents. i totally agree with ashley w, if you're mature enough to have sex, you're mature enough to take the consequences.

For myself....I am pro choice so I believe that abortion should never be made completely illegal.
I think the reason for the abortion has everything to do with my answer to this question. I don't think its black and white and that all abortions can be lumped into one category.

I believed in abortion. Then I found out my g/f was preg and we thought of it but its a total different story when you know the kid is yours and you don't want to go thru the thoughts of what I would have had.
