"Burning calories" is basically the "work" (colloquial use, not the scientific use of the word) your body has to do in order to break down food. A fatty food is more difficult to break down, so that's why it takes more "work" to break it down. Which is why it contains more "calories."
Water does not need to be broken down, so no calories are burned. However, as other has stated, your body does bring the water up to body temperature. Which takes "work" and therefore burns calories.
However, the amount is trivial. You will not lose much weight by consuming only very cold (perhaps a degree or two above freezing) water (vs. warmer water).
However, if you're looking to lose weight using water, you can do it. If you drink enough water, you will feel full and you won't eat. So, if every time you feel hungry, you down a gallon or so of water, you won't be taking in any caloric food.

Water does not contain, nor does it burn calories, however, the body does generate heat (use calories) to bring cold water up to body temperature. So, cold water or ice will cause calories to be consumed.

No, it does not. Water can only hydrate you which is essential for life. It can't burn calories or fat. If you don't drink enough water, though....you will not lose much weight. Because you won't be hydrated.

nope, but it has 0 cal. and when you drink a lot of water you don't feel hungry,so you decrease your food intake. also when we are talking about cold water which body must heat to the same temperature of the body it will loose some cal.
