Try some GENTLE exercise.

Yeah Shawna, it's great that you've decided to turn things around, but I really think you should seek some support from a doctor and an anorexia therapist. I think you're fantastic, but you'll be even better with the help of experienced professionals. The fact that you are still scared of gaining fat shows that your obsession with fat is not over yet. You also need the advice of a nutritionist to work out how many calories you need and what proportions of your diet should be protein, carbohydrate, etc. And yes, your body NEEDS fat. Your brain and nervous system cannot function properly without it. good on you!! and keep up the good work.

Yes, the weight will move to other areas. Depending on how thin you are at the moment, it may look like your stomach is huge compared to the rest of your body, but once you start putting on some more weight, what you gain in other areas will balance out your stomach, and you will have a balanced and healthier appearance.
*sidenote: did you know that people who are starving usually look like that have big stomachs because the starvation causes the stomach to bloat. Once a proper diet comes into place however, that bloat usually goes away.

It will spread out eventually, because you havent eaten your stomach was empty, and so flat, food will bloat your stomach rather than adding fat so dont worry, your metabolism will speed up with every meal you eat, and eventually your body will get used to food again. Please keep going, i know it's hard to stay on the right track but do it for your health. Try 5 small meals a day rather than 3 big ones you might notice a difference to your stomach then. Congratulations on the road to recovery. Im sure you look beautiful!

You don't state your height or weight. There are charts available on the net for your height, age, weight. Look them up.
I am 62, and been skinny all my life - but not through any medical condition. It used to worry me. Now I don't give a s...t. I am what I am.
You should try hard just to be what you are. If you were meant to be 'large' then so be it. If you were meant to be small, ditto.
I realise the trouble you are going thru. The best advise I can give you is....you are what you are.....learn to live with it.

you need to talk to your GP. Anorexia is a very complicated condition that not many people understand. You may well get the wrong answers that will inhibit your recovery.
you must stick to the advise of your healthcare professional, but by putting on some weight you are not losing control, and weight actually distributes itself evenly throughout the body, but even when a persons perception is not distorted, it seems that it looks more on some areas for a number of reasons.
if you are feeling down or vunerable, please ask your GP instead of posting here.

i should think a diet with more protein than fat will make more muscle than fat so more likely to develop muscle. any excess fat especially or excess foods will be stored as fat, in women its more likely to deposit in the stomach bym and thigh area. Im sure that you are eating a helthy well balenced diet so as long as you keep going like this you body will deposite tissue in the correct area and not the troubled areas.
Good luck and well done for getting through anorexia dont worry too much

I have no idea what you are eating and how much. If you were starving yourself for a long time, yes, the weight make gather in your mid-section first. Exercise, my dear. If you can without become exercise-obsessed. Do 100 crunches and walk for 1 hour every day. And just PLEASE try to eat normally. You'll even out soon. I promise.

Keep eating, eat good food, enjoy food, take a little light exercise, walking for 10 minutes twice a day will help to build up your leg muscles. Don't expect your shape to be perfect all at once. We are all different and have different shapes, be you, be healthy and eat lots of good food.

swimmming is very good exercise to get into as it tones the tummy muscles and works your whole body but just remember to take it gently and to get the correct advise when exercising.
Dancing is also a very good fun way to tone tummy muscles and its also lots of fun.
there is just so many to choose from, i teach dance myself and i love everything from dance to yoga to pilates and even kickboxing.
But please just go to somewhere where you have correctly qualified people to work with otherwise you could have an injury worse than worrying about your tummy.
Have fun and keep smiling...laugh in the face of fear.x
P.s-My gf had eating disorders of her own and now when she is now in a happy healthy eating routine and exercising when she wants has really helped her, her tummy was the major problem of all her weight worries but if you could see her now she looks fantastic.send love.aj.xx
