it is one where you cant help but fall over. It is apparently very rare and only 1 in a million adults have it. does anyone know its name?

Ataxia is unsteadyness and falling down a lot.

Vertigo is a vestibular disorder due to problems with the inner ear. It causes dizziness and the inability to remain balanced.
Ataxia is a disorder in which you lose the ability to manipulate your limbs.
Either one could cause you to fall down a lot, but I have no idea of the statistics of occurance on either.

I can't remember the name but it's one I remember a special on TV about and the people who have it wear helmets to protect their head because they just WHAM! Fall down out of the blue.
