The same Indian Chief had three squaws and they all wanted a new hide to sit on. The Chief went out hunting and brought back thre hides, an elk hide, a buffalo hide and a hippopotamus hide. He gave the elk hide to his ugliest squaw and the buffalo hide to his fattest squaw and the hippopotamus hide to the most beautiful. As he explained to the Medicine Man later "The squaw on the hippopotamus is equal to the sum of the squaws on the other two hides."
