There's an organ called plica (PLY-ka) semilunaris (sem-ee-LOO-ner-is) that protects your eye from dust and pollen by coating it with a slimy, sticky substance, i.e.: eye boogers.

You're nose has obviously filled up with them in the night so they are overflowing and coming out of your eyes 8¬)
