Of course. But in Brazil there is a lot of inequality, and unfortunately too many people still see economic gain in the rainforest for themselves, and don't care about the long term consequences. This is individuals who don't care. For the government's part, you could probably blame them for not enforcing environmental laws vigorously enough.

By the way, Brazil is a world leader in using ethanol fuel for cars, so maybe the two balance out for them.

There is no problem with the rain forest,regardless how hard u fight it, it will win. I lived in Ecuador and worked in the jungle and the rain forest was fighting to take back the roads and every thing else.
