Do you think this guy is using just regular styling gel? Also would I need any particular type of comb?

No certain type of gel, maybe super strong hair gel, but you would need LOTS of it. No certain kind of gel either. Just experiment in your free time, see what you can do with your hair

Use a comb, not a brush......try some mousse...
