Please read Genesis 18:2 These were described as 3 men. If Abraham had done nothing, the three men would have passed by. They were 2 angels and the Lord. Since this happened once, it is possible for it to happen again.

13:2 Hospitality, which literally refers to opening one’s home to traveling strangers who share in the faith, may bring unexpected blessings.

It is evident from numerous Old Testament passages that on occasion angels become corporeal - take on human form, and interact with men according to the will of God.
(see Genesis 16:7-14; 19:1-22; Judges 13:1-21, etc)

This could be a reference to Abraham, when the angel visitors came to him to tell Lot to get out of Sodom. The application is true today though, we should show kindness and hospitality whenever possible to "strangers" knowing that the Lord could be testing us in some way.

* It means what it says ans says what it means.

You lack understanding of bible history. Back in ancient times it was good manners to take traveling strangers into your home and feed them and give them a place to sleep. Back then traveling was often on foot and people spent days sleeping on the ground or wherever they could and it was people living in houses or even tents that gave these travelers meals and lodging. Also according to this passage the writer is merely telling people to take people in and feed them and give them lodging because in times past angels came to God's people as travelers like you read in the account of Abraham(Abram before name change) and the angels that came to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah(spelling).*

It means to extend yourself wherever possible, even when you don't feel like you can do so, for in doing so, you have the windows of Heaven opened upon you by God when you least expect it due to the testimony of the "angel" you helped along the way, and God in due time will recompense you by pouring out blessings of reward upon you so great that you can hardly receive it!

To be loving towards people because you never know if there are angels among them. Sometimes God sends angels just when we need them. Go see the stories for Coleen's earlier question about angel experiences.

Exactly that.
Many times in the Bible Angels have come to earth in human form as messengers, Abraham was one visited as was Lot by Angels, that instructed him to leave Sodom, many more examples.
