I currently have magnolia-my living room is big 22ft by 12ft. Should i paint all walls and cellings white so it can be light and fresh, or is a hint of white better.
Will it look too stark?

i think a hint of white with a white ceiling on that size of room, you could get two colours and paint the opposites the same colour ie stand in middle of the room paint the walls to ur left and right with colour a and the walls in front and behind with colour b wich is within a shade of colour a its an amazing effect its what i have done in my much smaller room if you applied thought this method could be used to make your room look larger or smaller,

All celling paint is off shade (white) a small bit. If you paint your walls white do you have wood trim at the bottom that's a natural wood color? You need to break up the color somewhere. Some of the better paint companies can mix any color you want. My daughter wanted white in here home but realized all the interior molding was white. She settled on an extremely light brown, so light that at first looks likes an off brown / white. You can do the same thing with a light green. Personally light yellows don't belong in anywhere but kitchens. I'm sure you will make a good choice that suits you.

I think all white will look cold and stark..try eggshell or a soft cream or do white but add one wall of a dark color...preferably one of the end walls or one of the 12ft walls..

White fixtures does not look sturdy with white partitions, until eventually u are going for a heaven in the worldwide topic and plan to fill the room with in basic terms white issues, devoid of photographs on the partitions, and with translucent white curtains. Then it could be advantageous. despite if, if that isn't what you have been hoping for, and yet you nonetheless choose something easy and comfortable, that's advisable to objective beige, black, and brown colored fixtures. in case you're adamant approximately getting your white fixtures, that's advisable to color the partitions yet another coloration, possibly yet another sort of white different than with a splash of yet another coloration - something like a whitish green, or blue, or any coloration, unquestionably. Black partitions might additionally be effective and might grant a Nineteen Seventies/present day artwork vibe (with the black and white) and additionally you will extremely choose for a topic with that. despite if, black partitions can often times be gloomy, and darkish colours have a tendency to make rooms look smaller.

I think all white is fine, but have a feature wall in a really nice bright colour to liven things up. and maybe make it a bit more of a magnolia shade, you don't want it to look too clinical. just make sure you don't go for 'off white'

our living room is a similar size
and was once decorated
brilliant white all over
when the sun shone
through the windows
we had to squint our eyes.lol
we soon re-decorated
the walls are off white
and the ceiling is capri (light skyblue)matt emulsion
by a company called beaver
its toned the room down a lot
but is still bright and breezy
without us suffering whiteout.

A hint of white....there are approximately a billion whites (not really, but a lot) Even a shade of light yellow, cream, a light tan will brighten your room. and blues make for a very crisp room, it doesn't weigh your room down like other actual colors!

I think so much white will be boring, unless you put splashes of color in the curtains, pictures on the walls and other decorations...i prefer to just use a little, because there are so many incredible color paints out there.

Have you thought about doing the bottom half of the walls one color and the tops another? Wainscoting? Wallpaper with a chair rail? Is there a wall you can do a nice, bright color and the others a neutral?
