You Said it " religion"

People put a lot of emotion into religion because to them there is so much at stake if they don't. Most religions instill a primal fear into their followers to ensure compliance.
I think we're moving toward a more basic understanding of spirituality as we witness what fenatic right wingers in all religions are doing to destroy humanity. Good is good and evil is evil no matter what religion the acts stem from. It's time to put aside our fears and embrace goodness for the sake of survival because the self rightous hypocrites of all religions are killing all of us innocent souls.

The fact that i would say that being fenatic about any religion is not conducive to peace and that all that matters for our survival is a civil and spiritually peaceful solution to bring all people together in unity and not exclusive self rightousness got me a thumbs down is scary. I can't imagine who would disagree with choosing peace and goodness over hate and war. Why would proving the superiority of one religion over others be more important than unity and peace and the survival of mankind in tolerance? The fact that this idea would get a thumbs down should be a freightning sign and an answer to your question of why religion makes people scared. The answerer after me said it perfectly. Religion scares people enough to a point that they disagree with peace and the good for all mankind just to protect it, even if the way they do it is against the basics of what God would want for us.

Why do you study for your final exams?
Because you are scared of failing.
So it is reasonable to be scared in this way you wouldn’t sin and that makes you a better person.
People are separated into three groups:
1-those who are scared of going to hell so they become better people.
2-those who want to do good so they would be awarded the key to heaven which are better than the first people.
3-people who do good because they are in love with god and do good for god.
These are the best of them all.
Why be scared when you can be in love?

Call me a scare-monger, but the idea of increasingly powerful weapons falling into the hands of people who think that committing acts of violence is doing god's work does make me nervous.

Actually, religion shouldn't make you scared if you truly have faith in your religion.

I'm not scared at all!

I have full faith in my God, and know that he is here to protect his loyal ones.

Wish ya well!
