Step away from the computer and go for a walk. It depends on your body type, but on average you don't need to lose anywhere close to 50 pounds. Between 130 and 150 pounds is a good weight for someone 5'6"

No, you dont want to lose 50 lbs, thats toooo skinny. You should just shoot for 25-35lbs in 4 months. remember, you should only lose 1-2lbs a week healthily. Just eat right, drink water and exercise. Do some weight training too so you can build muscle. Muscle cuts fat when you sleep and don't move around. So with that said 1-2lbs per week. thats like 8lbs a month. That is if you do everything perfectly. so shoot for around 30lbs. It will be a hugeeee difference. If you lose too much too fast, your weight doesnt distribute that well. so just take it easy and exercise anbd eat right. 4-5x a week for an hour doing cardio and 2-3x a week weight training. do high reps and light weight. good luck.

Any exercise will help and as far as a diet goes, it is better to eat healthy and cut back on sodas, chocolate, and carbs. Don't restrict your self to much or you will hate it and may not accomp[lish your goal. If you eat right and watch your portions that should help a lot. As for exercise any kind of cardio and the basics(push ups, squats, and crunches) should help you get in shape as long as you do them reguarly.

I'm gonna tell you what you should expect. You should excersize 60 minutes everyday and eat a balanced meal. This would include grain and dairy for breakfast, grain and veggies for lunch, and some type of grain and meat for dinner. For snacks, you should eat fruit and maybe a little more dairy, like yogurt.
