I drink about one 20-oz bottle of Mt. Dew a day for 5 days. Its my caffiene boost in the beginning of my work day. Coffee upsets my stomach. Anywho, I was told that if you stop drinking soda you'll lose a little bit of weight just from that. I know its got sugars but I eat healthy minus the soda a day. When its that amount of soda will you see much of a difference when you quit drinking it or is that just for the people that drink a couple cans a day?

8 oz of Mountain Dew has 110 calories. So, a 20 oz bottle will have about 275 calories.
There are 3500 calories in a pound. So, getting rid of the Mountain Dew (as long as you don't substitute something with sugar) will let you lose 1 pound in about 13 days. That would be a couple of pounds a month.
I used to drink a lot of Mountain Dew - it made me feel awake, and it's delicious. I substituted Diet Rite Tangerine flavor because it has that tangy citrus soda flavor and kind of made up for the Mountain Dew. Diet Rite has Splenda, and not Nutra-Sweet which I am allergic to. I also have a cup of coffee or just a Vivarin for the caffeine kick. If you're not allergic to Nutra-Sweet, I guess you could just drink Diet Mtn. Dew. Good luck!

A can of regular soda is supposed to have 30 tsp. of sugar in it. You only drink one a day. Giving it up would not make that much of a difference. You say you eat healthy, so I wouldn't worry about that. It does pose a problem if soda consumption is high and the rest of the diet fatty and sugary. We all need a little pleasure. I drink 6 cups of very weak coffee a day with a teaspoon of sugar in it. Just can't help it. When I've cut down in the past, my weight wasn't affected at all. Instead, I would grab something else not so good for me. Go figure.

One 20oz bottle isn't going to make much difference if you are eating healthy and exercising as well. It's more for people who are trying to lose weight and yet drink 3 or more sodas a day. I've known people who have been on the "cigarette and soda diet" and they never lost any weight because of all the sugar and no food. If you could switch to diet Mt. Dew, you could still get your caffeine without the sugar.

The excess amt. of sugar is the problem. Not just weight gain which it does but the effect it has on blood sugar which in ttime can really cause a serious health problem with diabetes. These drinks are also empty calories no food value at all. Maybe switching to sugar free drinks with the caffine is an option. Still the very ingredient caffine in coffee maybe the thing upsetting your stomach.

Let's say a 20oz Mt. Dew has 300 calories. Based on that, roughly 12 Dews is going to add a pound to you.
Doesn't sound like much until you realize that means about 2 pounds evey month. Over the course of a year, you've just gained a couple of bowling balls worth.

One bottle a day is not going to make that much difference. I think that there is a sugar free Mt. Dew and you will still get your caffience boost. For me it used to be Coke, but now when I need a boost I take Mt. Dew

One soda a day isn't really going to affect you, especially if you eat and drink healthy otherwise. It's hard to say exactly how much weight someone gains just from drinking soda, but again.. 1 bottle a day probably doesn't add any weight at all.

One 20oz bottle of non-diet soda is about 250 calories. That's 1250 calories per week or approximately 65,000 in a year. It takes, I think, 3500 calories to make a pound.
I'd switch to diet or cut the soda completely.

If you are eating healthy and one bottle of soda is your only daily sugar intake I think you are fine and calorie gain with the soda will be insignificant.
