If it is REALLY the flu then it will be a fortnight before you are properly recovered. A bad cold can hang on for weeks, but a virus is usually over in 5-7 days.

First, you should know that you've really got a flu, not just a simple cold. For treatment of flu, you could take antiviral drug such as Tamiflu which effective against influenza type A and B, but they are only effective within couple days after symptoms showing up.
Besides, take medicine to treat your symptoms and they'd make you feel better :
-antitussive, decongestant, antihistamine, fever&pain reducer and so on in case you have those symptoms
-if running nose becoming yellow-greenish phlegm with red&sore throat, you might be infected by bacteria, then you should take antibiotic
Other self-treatment are also important :
-taking a sufficient sleep
-staying in a good condition like optimal temperature, fresh air etc
-having nutrition food - Vitamin C could also help reducing degree of violence
-not working too hard and either not exercising, even better if you could possibly have couple days off
-drinking lots of water
-Lastly, Being Happy and Geting Well Soon ^-^

Rest over the weekend if you still feel rough. You could also take some cold and Flu plus. I am sure when I had flu it lasted about 4-5 days.
Get plently of Vitamin C - Tomato and Red pepper soup, oranges etc

Was it really influenza or just a bug. Real flu can take a long time to recover from. You will need to take it really easy over the weekend if you want to be alright by Monday. If it was just a bug a few days

There is a product over-the-counter called Musenex (sp?) that helps to expel the phlegm from your lungs. Also i would just take an anti-inflammatory. If your upper respiratory gets infection then you will need anti-biotics from your Dr. Other than that..just plenty of bed rest, warm liquids (no dairy products). Hot tea with lemon and honey is very relieving. Get better soon.

It takes at the most 1 week to get rid of it if you have it BAD, bad at the least 3-4 days. But if you just get PLENTY of sleep, drink LOTS of fluids, and dont eat like HUGE meals you should feel better in no time. Like I am sure you dont want to eat BIG meals, especially when your sick, but dont anyway.
Hope ya get better by Tuesday!!

You should be better by then. It's usually 3 to 4 days bad, then slowly feeling better. You may not feel totally like yourself by then, but for the most part you will. Get well.
