I find it intriguing that when a document precedes another in antiquity, it is automatically assumed that the later one, especially those concerning creation stories, is derived from the earlier one.
Is it not possible that the Egyptian story is an attempt to record something that happened before, but simply didn't get all of the facts correct?

Why couldn't the Egyptian one be a corruption of the original true events. It would make sense since pretty much all cultures involve some kind of creation story.

or maybe, as many cultures, like the greeks did, the egyptian took the ideas of the jews, and use them as personal, more probable, because the ancients of the jews exist far long away than egyptians.
