aside from not doing it. I hate running inside but it looks like winter has finally hit here.

My best tip is not to stop. Run at a pace where you can consistently keep running without taking any extended breaks. Once you heat up and eventually start to sweat a little, stopping longer than absolutely necessary and letting that sweat get cold will ruin a good run. Once you complete your warm-up and begin running don't stop.

I run comfortably in 10 - 20 degree weather with Under Armor COLDgear Compression fit long sleeved top and pants. A pair of gym pants, a light sweatshirt and a pair of gloves (I use the COLDgear gloves as well) and they work fantastic.

Be absolutely certain you dress appropriately and take time to stretch before and after. Cold weather doesn't have to stop you, but be smart about watching for ice, etc. when you run. My sister is a marathon runner and she took a nasty spill and was down for a couple days from running because of it on ice.
Just take your time, do the roadwork and enjoy watching all the weird looks you get from people in cars.

Yoga helps breathing in the cold. Other then that it simply takes the body some time to adjust for cold weather activities.

Bundle up in layers. The layer closest to your skin should be made of the material that sucks up the sweat (you can get these shirts at any sports store). Also, wear a hat - most of our body heats escapes from the head.

Breath though your nose and not your mouth. It sounds stupid but it helps me keep my lungs for getting cold and watery. Oh, wear the proper gear.
