Other than taxcut and turbotax. They charge more than they are worth. I shouldn't have to pay $60 for something that I can do for free the old fashioned way. I'll probably just send in the paperwork. If it was important to the IRS for us to e-file they would make it cheap or free.

I know about the free e-file, but I make too much. I'm still cheap though :)

I guess you got lucky at Amazon. I'm looking right now, and they advertise $26 for premium + $32 for fed/state e-file.
$58... + shipping

I've used Taxcut before, but just didn't feel like I got my money's worth last year. They have jacked up the price as far as they can.

Hi Fellow Taxpayer:
It depends on how complicated your return is? If most of your income is covered by a 1099, employer report, etc. get a IRS form (1040 long or short form) Gov Printing Office, or from the IRS (www.irs.gov) and do it the old fashioned way! Just follow the directions, and you can even get help from the IRS, if you need it? Make sure that your MATH is correct, that is what most TAX prep programs brings to the party! Now the E-Filing
is easiest way to file, but think TAXCUT includes that for the US and State returns and that is about $30 out of the $60+ Total
for all three, Fed, State and E-filing! It isn't hard, if you have all the reporting forms! and can add and read the tax charts!
BY the way, TAXCUT (owned by HR Block) will stand for you if you were to get audited (IRS), if you use their program.
I have used their program for years!

just pay it. It is deductable, so you will end up paying less than $60 (and I got taxcut fed/state + efile for $50 delivered on amazon)
