We have a nonrefundable trip to Egypt planned 5 days after unexpected surgery for a 2 centimenter diameter area around a mole with a depth being to the muscle. Does anyone know if this will be too painful to travel with?

Think of it this way---you're gonna be pain anyway, right? So you can either be in pain on a plane on your way to EGYPT!! or--you can be in pain on your couch.

I know you don't know how much pain you will be in----but take the painkillers they give you and go have a good trip! I think after 5 days the pain will have subsided. Good luck with your surgery.

Yes,without any problem. Wear sleeves long enough to cover that area, use a padded type bandage.Protect the area from the harsh Egyptian sun,sun screen for the rest of you,and have a wonderful time. Take care. SW RNP

Well, I think that all depends on your pain tolerance. You will certainly have some pain medications prescribed by your doctor and unless you have an intolerance or are not supposed to take Tylenol, you can use that if your pain medications run out. Check with the doctor performing the procedure. I think you should be fine to take your trip.

I have had 8 skin cancer surgeries, by the 5th day you should be able to travel. The site will be tender for several weeks so I would be very protective of the arm in question.
