It's probably not fear, but pride that's keeping you from apologizing. Nobody should have the upper hand. You may just be "afraid" of losing your control in the relationship by saying sorry. You may have subconsciously hurt him on purpose to give yourself more power...

apology is the best just find the right time to do it such as while watching a mushy movie or after a deep conversation or just walk up to him give him a big hug and say i'm sorry for hurting your feelings

maybe write a letter

why be afraid, did you do something really intentionally bad

if you hurt somebody by accident, its not your fault

if it was on purpose, then ask God for his help, I'm not Christian so I don't even have that option, I've heard it sometimes helps though. I always just have to deal with it myself.

if u believe that u did really wrong, so u saying sorry without thinking of it, because u hurt him, so don't worry about tell him how u feel that u are sorry, and maybe he is thinking of that too, because u hurted his feelings, so apologize to him fast before it will be so late.

Cuddle to his shoulder and just say: "I love you, I want you to alwasy know that, and I am sorry for what I did" but say it like you really mean it. Touch is always good. Hold his hand or have your hand on his shoulder softly.
