It seems like there has to be more to this question. Is this an exclusive relationship? Is it a long distance relationship or something?
I guess the bottom like is that if your guy/girl takes someone else to their prom, then you shouldn't be with them.

well whats the reason behind the prom date? were you dating before prom plans were made if so was it discussed about the prom date arrangements if your secure in your relationship and have trust in your bf/gf their shouldn't be a problem I wouldn't care

Well, he wouldn't be my guy anymore. That's like saying lets get married and bring dates. If he's your guy (or she's your girl) you go to prom with that person.
