I'm trying to remove vinyl floor tiles from a hardwood floor. I tried some stuff from home depot that's supposed to help - but it can't penetrate the plastic to get at the glue. Thanks!

There is really no way to save the finish on the floor. So, you might as well just get a scraper and chisel the stuff off. Do your best not to leave any deep gouges.

Once the vinyl is removed rent yourself an industrial sander, sand the floors smooth, and refinish.

Did it been there it sucks. Scrapping was the way to go, heating gun only made glue stick even more and smear. I had tile that was put down with tar the use to use on roofs. Then hand sander to finish, took along time but was worth it. Have a scrapping party!!!!
