how much alcohol will i need?

for my wedding recepetion for about 150 people and may some ideas on what kind to get

Generally one (1) bottle of 750ml of alcohol. Is enough to let 10 people have one drink. So if you get 15 bottles of whatever it is you are serving be it wine, whiskey, gin, etc. Everybody should be able to have 1 drink.
But you also got to think is everybody going to drink? Are there a lot of heavy drinkers? But the above is a good base number to start and cases of wine and liquor are fairly easy to get.
As for ideas pick up a Martha Stewart wedding magazine and try to do a signature drink like some kind of Martini. That's what my future wife wants to do.

It depends on several things: what and how much do your guests drink; is it during the afternoon or at night; will the people have to drive a long distance to get home afterward. You can go with a champagne fountain as the only alcohol, with a champagne punch in it, and that may be your least expensive option - I would provide about 5 oz. per person, plus I would have some other kind of non-alcoholic punch. You could provide wine and beer only. If there is a bar at the place of the reception, you could provide an open bar up to a certain amount of money, and have the bartender let you know when your amount has been reached - and then, you can decide to either close the bar or have your guests pay for drinks or raise the limit you're going to pay for drinks. I would consult a wedding planner. Even if you don't plan to hire a wedding planner, whatever venue you rent for the reception should have someone who assists in coordinating all of the events that are held there. If the reception will be in your church hall or someone's back yard, ask someone who's had a wedding in these or similar spaces. Remember to have plenty of non-alcoholic drinks, so people can easily choose not to drink alcohol. Mainly, think about what kind of people you're inviting. Are these people who usually drink a lot at parties? Or are half of them teetotalers who don't drink at all? Good luck!

Hmmm. My first wedding reception, there were about 200 people, mostly beer drinkers. However, I just bought 2 kegs (after that they'd have to pay), and 3 cases of Cooks sparkling wine. I had leftover beer, and NO wine left! If they wanted anything else they had to go to the cash bar. I got rave reviews on the wine, people thought I'd spent a ton on it, but it was only about $4 a bottle at the time. Better than Andre!

For a wedding reception, I got about 6 cases of 30 packs of beer, 4 cases of wine coolers and about 10 bottles of champagne. I had so much left over and my family likes to drink too. I would suggest going to Costco, Food for Less or Smart & Final to get your alcohol.

OMG!!!! The rule of thumb for wedding receptions is 1 drink per person per hour. If you are paying for the alcohol yourself or are having a caterer or hired bartener go with Champaine ONLY!!!! Not only with it cost you less in the long run, people will drink less.
It is considered tacky to have a pay bar at a wedding (where the guest pay for their own drinks) but it too saves money and slows drinking.
Now if you want a full "open bar" you will want Vodka, gin, a light and a dark rum, taqullia, a red wine, a white wine, a beer maybe 2, dry and sweet vermouth, wiskey (American, Canadian, Scotch and manybe Irish). And mixers, cola, lemon/lime, marg mix, marry mix, lime juice, orange juice, canberry juice, grapefruit juice, ginger ale. Then your fruits, cherries, oranges, lemons, limes.
For my money AND sanity I would go with Champaine, a non-alcoholic punch and maybe iced tea.
