The syrup in the drink has knackered your circuits. Best thing to do is remove the battery and completely wash your mob in hot water. Hot enough to melt the sticky dried drink off, but not too hot, otherwise you can melt circuity and other bits. Once washed, leave to COMPLETELY dry (I'd give it a week) then try it with the battery again. DO NOT WASH THE BATTERY, but clean it as best you can. Good luck, and let me know how you get on.

Cool - how'd ya' do that? I flipped a Zippo into someone's drink once.

Do not use the phone.

Remove battery and wipe it down by hand with water and paper towels. Do the same with the sim card.

Rinse the phone under running water for several minutes.

Let everything dry for at least 24 hours before reassembling and powering up again. If it doesn't work still, try removing the battery and sim card again and let it dry for another day. If it still doesn't work, you're scr**ed.

that's possibly the phone is in a hangover mode, will soon come around. Wake sure it has a dry night tonight being a Friday and should be sober enough to work by Monday.

A pair of shades over the LCD display might temporarily solve the issue though.

I dropped mine in the bath once, thought it was knackered and chucked it in a drawer to rot, but three weeks later it was working again so I'm guessing that no matter how wet it will get, as long as it dries properly there is a chance your phone could work.

You could try washing it in water but I myself would take it apart as much as I could and use damp cotton buds to wipe away any stickiness then leave it to dry for a week.
Give it a try.

I did nearly the same thing recently. I dropped my phone into a glass of orange squash at Christmas. My phone went mental. I took it apart and lay all the bits on a tea towel in the airing cupbaord for a whole week - and now it works fine.

Phones can survive all sorts of dunking.

Take out the battery and SIM. If you can, take off the rubbery keypad too.

Give it a rinse in clean water to get off the sticky residue from your drink (which may have settled in all sorts of out sight places) and let it dry in your airing cupboard for at least 48 hours. Then try it again.

Unfortunately once your phone gets wet there is nothing you can do but get a new one. I dropped mine in a glass of water and after about 5 seconds it wouldn't do anything. And most cell phone companies don't cover water damage so most likely you will have to foot the entire bill.

Yeah, you have dried up citris (which is a great conductor) crossing circuits in you phone. If you are saavy w/ that sort of thing, you could try to open it up and clean it with a damp, CLEAN, sponge, then let it dry again. Other than that, get a new one.

hi their dropped my phone in rock pool, it was a razr v3 and it fried the phone, kept trying but it kept coming up with crazy stuff. what i have heard is that if you don't get the battery out straight away forget it, its gone to the phone graveyard in the sky.
my only suggestion is, if its a fly looking phone, give it to young relation to pose with.
water+phone=scrap!!!!!
hope this helps
regards peter
p.s. it was probably the orange that did it in. stick to vodka

Take out the battery and the sim card and try to dry it out like that. It's probably destroyed though.
