Hi everyone...just a quick question...

Is it possible to make wine (small amounts) out of a bit of yeast and grape juice (or other non-alcoholic ingredients) from the grocery store? I've heard of putting a balloon over the bottle or something..does this work? How can this be done, and how will I know when it's done fermenting/ready to drink? Is this safe? Also, would it smell bad and possibly attract bugs/mice?

Any help/ideas would be much appreciated.

Cheers!

Here is a site with step by step instructions. I have never been adventurous enough to try it myself. http://www.wikihow.com/Make-Wine-by-the-Bottle

Grape juice from the store will most likely contain preservatives that will kill your yeast. If you can get unpreserved juice, you can add yeast and let it ferment, but you would be better off measuring the acidity.

You can get wine kits from any brewing shop.
Here is one I use sometimes:

(I do not work for them. I've been brewing beer and wine since 1993).

Let it set, and add some sugar, and make sure air can get into the bottle, or bag, or it will explode.
